(South Bend, Ind.) – Al Lusk is a Senior Project Manager for Holladay Construction Group, LLC. Mr. Lusk is actively involved in the local Kiwanis group where he has served as President for nearly six years. Kiwanis International is a global organization of members dedicated to serving the children of the world. Here is what Mr. Lusk had to say about his community group:I first joined Kiwanis in 2008. Our local Kiwanis group is called the Potawatomi Club and we are one of seven (7) clubs within the Michiana area. I became President in 2010 and still hold that position.
The reason why I became active in Kiwanis is that this service group focuses on helping children and young adults. The Potawatomi Club sponsors several local groups such as Hope Rescue Mission, YWCA, Reins of Life, Camp Mill House, The Homeless Shelter, St. Margret’s House, Memorial Hospital, and Riley’s Children Hospital. We also team up St Mary’s College as they are one of the biggest colleges in the United States that supports Kiwanis.
Each year, our club raises money to support these groups by holding an annual walk-a-thon the second week in August. With the support of local individuals and companies, we are able to raise about $6,000 annually. We also participate in helping out the needy by volunteering. For the past 8 years, I have dressed up as the Easter Bunny and our club visits local hospitals and nursing homes.
If you or someone you know is interested in supporting the Potawatomi Club or becoming a member, you can contact President Al Lusk by emailing him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
